What IS tapestuf?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tapestuff is a program I worte specifically for the Jumbo tape streamer since
I got pretty tired looking for a tape door that worked <grin>.Tapestuf will
read a PCBOARD.SYS file for all the essential info.. all you DORINFOx.DEF guys
cal also use it 'cos it does not write to the users or any files, just calculates
time.. thats all.
Quick Start
~~~~~~~~~~~
OK. Here goes, TapeStuf has a few basic files.. Well more than a few <grin>,
there is TAPESTUF.CFG which the format is a basic 4
line Config file.
Line 1 - RBBS for Dorinfox.def
PCB for PCBOARD
GAP for GAP Systems
WC for Wildcat
SF for Spitfire
Line 2 - Path to your Exit config file (path the PCBOARD.SYS etc)
Line 3 - Sysop's First & Last Name
Line 4 - Locked Ports BAud Rate (0 for No Locking)
There is TAPE.KEY, if you register this door, you will recieve your own custom
key.. but this program is NOT crippled in any way.. Just support Shareware!
Then there are the VOLUME file.. which you just have to make to say what is on
your tape....
DIR1 -> DIR20 (DIR1 may only be in this ZIP file)... these are the volume
directory files, DIR1 is Volume 1, DIR2 is Volume 2 ...... etc (you get the drift)
you can use ANSI in this file BUT dont use it in the first 12Characters.. since
that is reserved for the filename.. I would not advise ANSI in these files.
I Recomend the PcBoard type Format WITHOUT the @X Color Codes.. just plain ASCII
TAPESTUF is the Main file, this Door Supports up to 115KBaud.. oh and there are
a few command line params... TSTUFF7 <CONFIG FILE>, so you can make it multi-
node <grin>
NSTUFF4 is the program that will read the FLAGLIST which is created by
TAPESTUF Door when the user flags a file for restore.. this file is called
'FLAGFILE'.. this Program will read the flagfile and restore the files on
volumes specified by the user... The user can NOT flag a file that is NOT in
the DIR files, it will just report "FILE NOT FOUND" so you can have security
on that part..
NITESTUF.CFG is just the config file.. 3 lines long, First is the Sourcepath
from the tape... I advise you to leave the Drive out on that selection.. read
the CFG file for more info!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here Goes (Fooled you!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Copy all the CFG files,DIR files and a copy of your TAPE software.. TAPE.* from
your tape software.., then just set the CFG files and then you are READY to go.
P.S. The DIR files can be any format (PCBOARD Preferred), just as long
as the filename is up to the first 12 characters in the DIR file...
then let her RIP!!!
After the user has flagged a few files..(Multiple tagging is allowed), just run
the program. NITESTUF.EXE after the caller or in your event..
P.S. HAve the dir name on your tape the same as tour HDD ..
e.g. Tape-> \TAPE
HDD -> \TAPE
Since the tape software is not allowing me to specify where I want the
file placed
